30 Day Blogging Challenge: What Kind of Person Attracts You? - Post 2

While I was away, the whole year gave way to a new year. So happy new beginnings and happy good things to all of you!

On that note, let me begin the third post in the blogging challenge series. Ha! this question that forms the topic of today's post would draw a very different answer from me, had it been asked 10 years ago. But times change and so do we and our beliefs..errr... habits! :)

Before I come to the reply directly, let me start with the premise of my reply. I am an out and out a dadda's girl. And my father (who is no more with me now) was a through gentleman, in every sense. Courteous to the tee, peace-loving, extremely positive in his thoughts and beliefs and sincere- these were the sterling qualities of my father. Having lived all of 26 years with such a person, has permanently led me to believe that people should be bred like my dad was! Why? Let me tell you more.

I am attracted to people who:
  • Care about others' discomfort and problems more than their own. Doesn't true love arise when you think about others, before your selfish interests?
  • Are positive and open-minded in every thing that they do.
  • Are absolutely independent and secure about themselves.
  • Take others' opinions as they are and do not try to add their own colors and interpretation.
  • Are loyal, truthful, frank, jovial, approachable... I can go on and on really...
  • Do not judge others' during a brief conversation and gossip about it behind their back.
  • Do not expect others' to act or tow according to their beliefs and ideologies.
  • Feel others' pain , even if they cannot do anything about it.
  • Are absolutely sure about what they want from their lives.
  • Live and let other live and let others be themselves.
  • Believe that the speech has been given to exchange important information and feelings and not to hurt others for their own liking.
Quite a long list that was! And yeah, both my parents followed these qualities and were embodiments literally!

I really thank my stars and God for blessing me with such wonderful parents.
