O bhaiyya All is Well...

A Review

Hello Everyone,

Wish you a very Happy New Year!! Am willingly removing the word'belated', because we are still in the 1st week of the new year, so I guess we are still allowed to wish like wise. As promised a year ago ( ;P), am back with a brand new post. And guess what, this time it's a review on the 'oh-so-popular' film 3 Idiots
Am sure you all must have watched it by now. So I wont start with a description of the movie in details. What I would like to highlight here is the basic storyline of the movie. It's not news that the story is loosely based on the very famous Chetan Bhagat book, Five Point Someone, which talks about the life in engineering and management colleges. 3 Idiots also seems similar to Dickens' novel Hard Times, which also mocks the faulty education system.
Of course the 3 Idiots are Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, with Aamir playing the ring leader's role. And they all play their parts to a T. Concepts introduced in this film are quite common, but the catch is the way these concepts are packaged and presented to us. Like we all have heard our parents, teachers telling us or learned men preaching us to chase excellence and not success. Hirani states the same concept likewise: ' Kamyabi ke peeche mat bhaag, kabiliyat ke peeche bhaag, kamyabi to jhak maar ke aayegi'
Indeed such dialogues are eye-openers and you feel rocked. Though Aamir steals the show with his sensitivity, sensible actions and generosity and witty but true sayings, Boman Irani strikes you with his stellar perfromance. When Hirani indiacted to Madhavan through Aamir, to chase his dreams and passion,, did he mean Boman's transition from a successful photographer to a fantastic actor? We wonder. You hate Boman Irani's dangerous egotism but you cannot overlook his credibility as an actor of par excellence. His mannerisms and oddity add to the comic elements of this sizzling movie, where not a single moment seems dull.
The film is packed with good music - two songs particularly strike you - 'All Izz Well' and ' Give me some sunshine' .
In short, the film is amazing with equal dollops of comedy and suspense. Lastly, how can we forget Chatur, his hilarious speech and his strange and accented Hindi? So, I would like to draw a close with Chatur's hilarious speech (edited to some extent for decency purpose).
Enjoy and do not forget the mantra of the movie - All Iz Well...
